When Naomi contacted me to book in for a photo shoot for herself and her beautiful Cob, Savannah, she explained to me that she wanted some photos as Viking themed, where she would were her beautiful cloak and bring her husbands sword. Her and her Husband participate in Medieval reenactments, so she wanted to incorporate this into her photo shoot. I was incredibly excited as it gave me the chance to be really creative with the shoot, and I already had loads of ideas flowing before I even arrived!

When I arrived, I spent a bit of time with Naomi and Savannah while she got ready and got to know the pair a little better. Savannah was super chilled out on the yard and was completely unfazed by everything we did with her! The first thing I wanted to get done was the black background photos. These are my favourites to do as all we need is a stable door to produce some incredible photos. Needless to say, I was really pleased with how they came out.

Following this, we took some of Naomi on her own with her sword which came out amazing. On request of my client, I am not showing any photos publicly with her face shown, so am only including some of my favourites that she has approved for me to show. I was in my element at this lovely yard, we had plenty of places to shoot where it looked like we were in a forest. I got ‘Lord of the Rings’ vibes while shooting, and I was actually really pleased it was dark clouds and even started raining! The sky gave the photos the perfect ambiance, and brought my vision to life in each shot. The dress that Naomi wore was stunning, and even featured a little black horse on the bottom, so I made sure to work with that.

I absolutely love how these photos came out and so was Naomi, I always have a vision in my mind for every shoot I do and tailor it to the individual horse and rider combination. I feel I captured this pair perfectly and these photos really show their personalities and their bond together. Thank you Naomi for letting me take your photos, and giving me the change to do something a bit more unique and creative. I thoroughly enjoyed this shoot and hope that Naomi treasures these photos for many years to come.
